Two goals:

 1. Distributing good information to the public (and internally) through maps
 2. Make the data freely available for anyone to use

Efficient strategy: Divide into two cooperating projects;

 * One fulfilling goal 1. by means of licensed map data. NorgeDigitalt/Statkart WMS/(F), openlayers etc. Easy - rapid.
 * One fulfilling goal 2. by means of free-and-open-source data generation and already available data. Open Street Map. Need to "manually" generate the needed data. I.e. lot of work -> lot of time. However - makes the data freely available for anyone to use!

Ideas to requirements and solutions:

 * Floor plans now (mostly) static images = problem. Some are in CAD-drawings which probably can be converted. Efforts needed to produce high-quality data of indoor geography!
 ** Need to make a comprehensive data model/structure for indoor geography. Geomatikk can help.
 ** ALL Rooms with a number needs to be in the database! Including small offices to large auditoriums. Ambiguous names needs to be supported (byggteknisk, byggtekn., lerkendalsbygget etc)
 ** Digitizing static floor maps -> project in course "Bildeteknikk" ?? Should be feasible to automate to some degree - at lest at a high level i.e. image lines -> vector representation.
 * Map system needs to integrate well to external systems. I.e. logical URI structure. Lightweight API etc. Teleweb.ntnu.no is one example of needed integration.
